High school diploma or GED is required. 

Machinery Mechanic 3 - Tests required:
    FNG’s Mechanical Aptitude Test  (70% minimum score)
    FNG's Mechanical Skills Tests (Forms B & C) (70% minimum score) .

Mechanical Technician - Tests required:
    FNG’s Mechanical Aptitude Test  (70% minimum score)
    FNG’s Mechanical Skills Test (Form A) (70% minimum score)
    Electrical Skills Test (50% minimum score required)
Must have the ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in the English language.  Ability to effectively communicate and present information in one-on-one and group settings to customers, management, and other employees of the organization is required.  Must be able to read, interpret and follow written materials including operator manuals, safety procedures, SOP's and SSOP's.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals required.  Must be able to convert units of weights and measures.  Must be able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.  Must be able to graphically represent data and interpret results as needed. 


Machinery Mechanic 3 - This position requires five (5) years of proven industrial maintenance experience or have successfully completed 18 months as a FNG Machinery Mechanic 2.  Working on fillers, cappers, case packers, palletizers, associated conveyors and equipment is preferred.  Skills and experience must include ability to read and interpret schematic prints of plant equipment in order to trouble-shoot and/or make repairs with minimal supervision.  Must be able to operate, complete PM assignments, and repair all production related machinery and equipment.  Must have working knowledge of mechanical ratios.  Must understand basic electrical control circuitry and components including; photo eyes, proximity switches, limit switches, servo motors, and VFD’s.  Must understand process systems including steam controls and components including valves, traps, strainers, and regulators.  Ability to perform precision cutting and welding to meet food plant standards is required.  This includes metal layout, fabrication, stick, TIG and MIG welding.  Sanitary-purge welding is preferred. 


Mechanical Technician – This position requires one of the following:
1.    Formal mechanical/electrical/technical training with three (3) plus years on the job experience.
2.    Five (5) years of industrial mechanical/electrical/technical job experience with no formal training.  
In addition to the work experience requirements for Machinery Mechanic 3, the Mechanical Technician must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic prints of plant equipment and electrical layouts in order to trouble-shoot and/or repair equipment and electrical systems with minimal supervision.  This would include photo-eyes, limits switches and other PLC controlled equipment based on diagnostics, electrical drawings and circuit testing.  Preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting, and replacement of electrical and control systems for industrial processing and packaging equipment to also include: motors, starters/VFDs and related controls.

Additional qualifications required:

This position requires regular standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, occasional climbing, bending, stooping, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Heavy physical requirements include frequent lifting and/or movement of objects up to 35 pounds and occasional lifting and/or movement of objects up to 50 pounds.  This position has frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.  Must be able to obtain a FNG forklift operator license (class C) within 90 days.  Must be able to operate a forklift in a safe efficient manner to move materials, parts or equipment.  Must be able to master basic computer skills such as opening, reading, creating, and sending email and attachments.  Basic use of Microsoft Word and Excel for tracking and planning purposes.  Must demonstrate self-motivation, positive attitude, teamwork, and Core Values.  Must be able to work on several projects at the same time, prioritizing work responsibilities to meet the business needs.  Must understand the operation and repair of industrial mechanical equipment.

Job Functions:

Follow all OEM instructions for proper installation, operation, inspection, and preventative maintenance activities for Chilled packaging and processing equipment to ensure machine reliability and minimize downtime.  Respond to maintenance calls in a timely manner.  Perform routine preventative maintenance activities on assigned equipment utilizing FNG’s CMMS system.  Set-up production lines and assist with changeovers as needed.  Complete maintenance projects assigned by TR/Foreman in a timely manner.  Help develop and maintain procedures and documentation. Troubleshoot equipment and perform needed repairs to minimize downtime.  Must have the ability to operate, maintain, and clean all production and support equipment in the CBU.  Must be able to provide training and guidance to team members, operators and others as needed to meet the business needs.  Must be able to complete HACCP, ISO, and Safety documents as needed.  Maintain work areas in a neat, orderly and safe environment.  Comply with established requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in all areas of the Business Unit.

Additional Duties:

Perform daily inspections and maintenance task.  Rebuild pumps, gear boxes and other equipment in the shop in a timely manner to ensure availability.  Responsibilities also include participation in future training sessions to support new business, machinery, equipment or technology.  Must support Safety and Process Improvement programs by actively participating in the suggestion programs for each area.  Frequent participation in the CBU Safety Committee is required.  Perform any other duties assigned by Foreman or Supervisory personnel.  Regular Attendance Required. Must interact cordially with co-workers.

Compensation: 22.60 to 25.15 per hour; 23.96-26.62 per hour
