High School Diploma or GED required. Must be able to read, write and speak English and perform mathematical calculations. Must pass the Mechanical Aptitude test with a minimum score of 70% and the Basic Skills Assessment with a minimum score of 80%, in order to be considered for this position.
Previous machine operator and citrus experience preferred but not required.
Must be able to prepare daily tracking reports in Excel or Word. Enter maintenance items and recurring problem reports in Excel and Word. Must be able to use e-mail system to write maintenance work order requests and communicate with team and management within 60 days. Have or be able to obtain a class "B" forklift license within 60 days. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. During general clean-ups and maintenance must be able to lift 75 pounds with assistance from a co-worker. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. May be exposed to elevated areas or different heights. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection. During general clean-ups employee will be required to use all Personal Protective Equipment.
Operate, maintain and clean all Finishing Room, Debittering and equipment including premium pulp, pulp wash, centrifuges, FPT tanks and flow control. Operator will perform all four positions and rotate positions as needed. Communicate (verbally and via e-mail) with team members, other departments and management to insure all demands and requirements are being met. Perform daily and weekly clean-ups as needed including break down and re-assembly of finishers and filters. Insure that all SSOP, SOP, GMP, HACCP procedures are followed. Follow instructions and work with minimal supervision. Must have excellent problem solving skills and the ability to perform complex hose connections to redirect flow as required.
Must have a high level or mechanical aptitude that will facilitate trouble shooting of Finishing and Debittering equipment (FMC finishers, valves, pumps, solenoids, flow meters, valve matrix, tube and tube pasteurizer, centrifuges, FPT tanks, etc.). Must be able to perform mathematical calculations using flow rates, time, temperature and percentages. Attend team meetings and participate with team role functions. Other duties may be assigned.
|Compensation:||$15.50 - $17.22 per hour|
