High school diploma or GED required.
Must be able to read and write technical information and perform basic mathematical calculations. Must pass FNG Mechanical Aptitude Test with a score of 70% or higher. Formal training in lubrication technology and bearing types and application is desirable. Pump Repair and alignment is also a plus. Must pass all Maintenance Mechanic Skills tests. Manufacturing Skills Standard Council certification preferred.
Requires 2 to 5 years of industrial maintenance experience. Working on fillers, cappers and related equipment preferred. Must be able to maintain equipment in a high state of efficiency. Must be able to perform overhauls and repairs on all equipment. Stick, MIG, TIG welding required. Metal layout and fabrication; hydraulics and pneumatics; power transmissions (gearboxes) and pump repairs are all required. Must understand basic electrical control circuitry and mechanical ratios. Must understand steam and process systems and components, ie: traps, strainers and regulators. Must be self motivated, with a winning attitude, leadership traits and people skills.
Must be able to train other employees of lower skills through hands on and classroom instruction. Heavy physical requirements include lifting 50 lbs., bending and climbing. Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to work as a team member to solve problems and improve equipment operation. Must be able to meet and maintain requirements for FNG Forklift Operator License. Must have excellent work habits, initiative, safety and attendance. Must have a positive attitude that promotes teamwork. Must be able to identify machine parts and make up spare parts lists. Must be able to use or learn to use a metal lathe and milling machine proficiently enough to make shafts, bore sprockets and cut keyways. Must be able to correctly align rotating shifts. Must be able to develop computer skills and HMI skills. Must be able to work rotating shifts.
Work and train on mechanical equipment repairs. Weld, cut and machine fabricate parts and assemblies. Train on equipment adjustments and repairs for efficient operation. Repair and maintain mechanical equipment for processing and packaging areas. Perform lubrication and preventive maintenance. Maintain accurate work and parts logs. Furnish required hand tools. Communicate effectively with all employees. Work with little supervision. Recognize machine failure problems and be able to correct them. Work a 48 hour week but may be required to work additional hours. Lead team meetings and implement team concepts. Identify, organize and implement changeover procedures. Assist in coordination with production on mechanical downtime for P.M. and initiate Purchase Orders.
Regular attendance required. Must interact cordially with co-workers.
Perform any other duties assigned.
